I was in a political prisoner of war camp, not sure how I got there, or even why. I’m just your everyday, average, all American girl. Mostly they kept me in a building with a few other people, mostly females. One of them looked like Elsa if she was real.

There was a solider at the door with a gun that was long and skinny. The barrel had a lot of holes in it. The print on his uniform was a digital cami, but I can’t tell you the color. He never talked to us, but he always returned my smiles.

I don’t know how long they kept us in that stupid room, letting us out for meals and bathroom breaks. One day we were at breakfast actually it was more of a brunch. There was the long grill bar thing that had stacks of bacon, eggs, cheese, sandwich meat and a few other things that we could choose for our meal. I was discussing with the lady behind the grill about her recommendations on what would be good to eat when I realized that one of the guys that was in my room was acting weird over buy the blue vending machine.

Things got weird and I decided that it would be best if was in the room, not here. Our guard pushed me up against the bar before going after the guy and I stumbled my way out of the food area, I really wanted to be in the room. Instead I found myself outside in sunlight. There was another guard, when I asked if I was allowed to be out here he jerked his head outside and nodded. This one smiled when I smiled at him too. I like it when people return my smiles. It makes me happy I can make them smile.

I looked around, I was obviously at some side door of the building I was in. There was nothing to mark the building. I wouldn’t have even realized that there was a door from the outside if there hadn’t been a guard posted there. I saw a path a while away and walked over to it and started following it until I stood next to a lovely oak tree.

A short man with flaming red hair ran past me. “Why is that leprechaun in such a hurry?” I ask out loud. The guy turns around and looks at me for a second. “What?” I asked. He turned around and took off, only to stop again when what I thought was a giant ran by him in the other direction. When the giant got to me he was no longer there, well he was, but he was a bug. For some reason I knew he was the same guy. I squatted down to look at him, a bee? No, actually, I think that is a yellow jacket. “So a shifter huh?” I spoke out loud, my hands resting on my knees as I squatted.

“Which one is he?” the small man next to me asked. I pointed, He grabbed and the air felt really weird, next thing I know the short guy is about my height and he is holding what looks to be a troll doll, but not. “Thank you.” The man said, holding the dollified shifter to me.

“Is that how leprechaun magic works?” I asked before reaching my hand out, open palm, to him. For some reason I knew better than to take it from his hand.

~~~and then I woke up and realized that I was only there because I just knew that there was a magical creature around me, and what type.
