HYPE ASS BOTANY!

“Hiya Lexi. Um Did you know that that, that the uh, Toryna has a ish-bone inside it?” Melly bounced on the balls of her feet.

“Torenia?” Lexi smiled and sat down on her large comfortable chair and helped the child into her lap.

Melly grabbed Lexi’s tail and started petting and hugging it. “Uh huh, and the um, two-lips, yeah, a long time ago, like really long time ago when kings and queens were real, the bulbs were worth more than gold. That’s a lot.”

“Oh really?”

“Uh huh. And um, cranberries has air inside so they can bounce and float on water. And then, uh, then, there is this flower, called the, the titan a-rum, or cor-spe flower cause it is stinky like meat that has not been eating in a long time but it is really cool cause it like bigger than you are tall!”

“Cool. Anything else?”

“Yeah, there is a really cool bush that has really pretty flowers on it called, um, wait, it is called, ole-lander?”

“oleander?”

“Yeah! Oleander, and eating anything, anything off that bush means very bad things, like it could kill you bad things. But it is SOOOO pretty!”

“There is a lesson in that.”

“My daddy said the same thing! Oh and snapdragons are cool cause you can make the mouth open and close.”

“Wow, you learned a lot.”

“Uh huh. Did you know that um, peaches, and pears and apples and nine-roots no bark, yeah yeah, bark and strawberries are related to roses?”

“Yup and Auiinces, spirea and goats beard.”

“I forgot those.” Melly frowned and looked around the room. “Oh but I remember that strawberries have more than 200 seeds and they are tiny! Oh and peanuts are not nuts, they are beans, and I am allergic.”

“That is good to know. Where did you learn all this?”

“I was at a doctor’s office and there was a mag-a-zine called better home and garden.”
