"The oven was on?"

"The oven was on?" I asked confused.

"Yes." She checked her notes "It was set to 800 degrees and, nope, there was no timer."

"That can't be right." I shook my head.

The lady frowned at me and tapped her pen on the clipboard. "It is right here in the report. That the oven started the fire."

"You wouldn't mean the stove top right, no, not if you said 800 degrees."

The lady slammed her clipboard on the table in front of me but I didn't flinch. "Tell me why you did it." To say she was demanding would be an understatement.

"Lady, it wasn't me. Your report is wrong."

"Bullshit"

"I have never owned an oven, I have a small microwave and two small burners that are over my dishwasher. Go check my floor plans."
