Quack quack quack

"Quack quack quack‏" Samantha ran giggling around the house.

"Quack quack" Bidy chased. He heard the door bell ring but ignored it.

They did a loop around the house before the little girl crashed into the guest. "Oh, well haven't you grown." The stranger smiled. He picked her up and tossed her in the air.

"Dusk falls" Bidy landed on a nearby table and ruffled his feathers. "Dusk falls." He walked around obviously agitated.

"Ever the guardian, here is your mistress." He set Samantha down and looked over at the mother. "I love how she has my eyes, you do know what typically happens to my children?" He asked while ruffling her hair.

"Yes, I know the stories of you and your brother." The mother shifted uncomfortably. "He doesn't know. Please leave."

He knelt to kiss Samantha on the forehead. "Be strong little one, you will never be alone." With a bow to the mother he left.

"Dusk falls" Bidy landed on Samantha's shoulder and rubbed his head to her cheek. "Dusk falls."
