She walked through the library, her library, running her fingers on the spines. She didn't have it memorized yet, but she was learning. She closed her eyes and took a lungful of the smell and exhaled it contently. She walked around and looked at all the "people," for lack of a better word, who came from all walks of life. It made her happy that everybody seemed willing to look up from whatever they were doing and smile at her.

She jumped the first time her tail got tugged. Looking over her shoulder it was a small 5 year old girl who had her tail firmly in both hand and tugged up and down. "Yes child? What is your name."

The little girl smiled, but didn't let go of her tail. "Melly."

"How can I help you Melly?" She slowly turned and squatted, letting the girl keep her tail.

"I want to read a book about pirates. ARRR!"

"How fun, have you read any before?"

"Count of Cristo, Under ename color, royyo color"

"Those are some pretty grown up books."

"Hu huh, my mommy and daddy help me if i dont understand. They are very good."

"Have you read the Princess Bride?"

"I dont want to read about princesses." the girl pouted and threw her tail down. "I want to read about pirates, or captains. It sounds boring."

"Are you kidding? It has pirates, fencing, fighting, torture, revenge, giants, monsters, chases, escapes, true love, miracles..." She smirked at her favorite quote.

"It sounds okay. Can you show me where it is?" The little girl picked up her tail again.

"As you wish"
