The axe came down

The axe came down. He laughed as the pumpkin split in two. 10 years, and allowed to swing the axe this year. Smashing pumpkins on All Saints Day was so much fun.

He tried to lift the axe, but it was stuck. Pouting he let go and looked at his hands. What was it that they did in the movies? Spit? Eww! Instead he just rubbed his hands quickly together and then shook them out before grabbing the axe again. He got the axe to start to lift up, with the pumpkin still attached. He started laughing and dropped the axe.

He turned the axe side to side, trying to make it so the head would just come up. He quickly brought the axe down again making more pieces. He offered the handle to his sister so she could play as well. Family fun, that is what this was, family fun.

He walked over to one of his mommy's friends, "Are you gonna swing the axe too?"
