I sat up quickly, and imminently regretted it. Touching my hand to my forehand, I grew nauseous with the pain. The blackness that covered my vision changed to spots, then I could see clearly. Though, where I was, or how I got here was a bit concerning.

"Your majesty, we have another one over here." A voice called out, I grabbed my ears, ducking my head away in pain. "Easy now, easy." The voice was soft now. "It's a little hard to get use to at first. But soon the pain will pass, you just have to accept it and let go."

I looked at the person who was talking, or rather tried. My vision was blurry, but I think I was talking to a grey cat. Yeah, that's not crazy. How hard did I hit my head to be seeing this crap. "What happened?" I tried to ask, but it came out something along the lines of "Wa hapen"

"Shhh, you are not ready to speak yet." The cat person start examining me. "You are the third one to show up here. I am not sure what happened. You are here without having any of the rites done. No matter, you will be treated fairly. Queen Hasa will see to that"

"Here?" I asked, my vision seemed clear, but I was still looking at a grey cat lady, in, is that Egyptian garb? "Where is here?"

A large dark blue cat woman with dreadlocks wearing very little Egyptian garb walks up. "Why doesn't this one look yummy." She touched my face, her hand so soft, her voice rich and her laughter soothing. "This is my realm, a purgatory if you will. While you wait to be judged you have the honored privilege to be apart of my empire."

"This is purgatory? Wait, I'm dead? I didn't really believe in religion. I just wanted to live life to its fullest."

"Which is how you ended up here. If a soul belonged to a religion that soul would have gone straight to their form of judgment. If a soul does not, then a soul finds its way into the purgatory that best fit the soul's belief during life. Some will allow you to go through judgment, others not." Hasa quoted. "Isn't that boring bit of trivia. I will you be tried after serving in my army for at least 100 years, if you ask." Her hand combed my hair as I stared into her eyes. "But I think I have a more interesting job for you. Though I will still let you go after 100 years. Would you like to be my pet?"
